Data Centre

Customers websites are served from our own hardware located within the state of the art London Hosting Centre facility in the Docklands area of London.

Data centre security is monitored 24/7 by on-site personnel. This includes visual verification of all persons entering the building and CCTV video camera surveillance.

Uninterruptible power supplies along with diesel generators ensure uninterrupted delivery of power to equipment at all times. To ensure stability and reliability, power systems are built to at least an N+1 standard. Put simply, this means that if two generators are required to provide non-stop power, then there'll be three installed.

To ensure optimum performance, N+1 redundant close control downflow air conditioning units are used to guarantee a stable temperature of 21°.

Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus coupled with a gaseous (HFC-227ea) fire suppression system is installed in the data centre facility. These systems provide very early detection to help avoid fires and the ability to extinguish fires without damaging equipment.

Network

Server connectivity is provided by a dual redundant gigabit network using the latest Juniper routing and HP switching network equipment. There is 8gbps of external IP connectivity to the network, including transit from Tiscali, NTT/Verio, Telia and Interoute, and direct peering with LINX (London Internet Exchange).

Servers

Websites are hosted on high performance servers with components sourced only from the most reputable suppliers who include Supermicro, Intel, Crucial, Weston Digital and 3ware. All storage is configured to use Raid-5 + Hot Spare. This ensures that failure of a hard drive doesn't result in lost data or downtime. Intel Quad Core processors and low load levels ensure fast response times. Red Hat Enterprise Linux offers a reliable, secure, high performance platform designed for today's commercial environments.

For peace of mind, our servers are backed up 4 times a day to an off-site location.
