How do I upload my files?

To upload your site, you need to use an FTP client e.g. Cute FTP, WS-FTP, Terrapin FTP, Smart FTP, Fetch FTP (Mac OS) or a web design package with built in FTP support. If you do not have an FTP client, you could use Internet Explorer 6 to upload your files. Please see the relevant questions in the knowledgebase for more details on uploading using the different FTP clients.

The control panel does provide a file manager, but we don't recommend that you upload your whole site using it.

If you have FrontPage server extensions installed on your account, please do not use FTP to upload your site as it may corrupt the extensions. Instead see the question in the knowledgebase entitled 'How do I publish my site with FrontPage Server Extensions?'.

When you open a hosting account you receive an email which contains the information required by all FTP clients. This is basically just your username, password, FTP Server and Host Directory..

FTP Server: ftp.example.com
FTP Username: example@example.com
Host Directory: /var/www/html
