How do I use Internet Explorer 6 to upload my website?
Internet Explorer 6 can be used as a basic FTP client, allowing you to easily upload your website. To connect to your site, open Internet Explorer 6 and follow the instructions below.
- Enter 'ftp://ftp.example.com/mainwebsite_html/' (replace example.com with your domain name) into the address field.
- In the 'User Name' field enter your accounts username and domain name in the format of username#example.com.
- Enter your accounts password in the 'Password' field.
- Click the 'Log On' button to connect to your account.
If you need to upload CGI scripts to your account you would need to enter 'ftp://ftp.example.com/mainwebsite_cgi/' into the address field. Files you upload to this directory will be accessible via http://www.example.com/cgi-bin/.
This only applies to Internet Explorer 6.
