Why can't I see .htaccess files in my FTP client?
If you have uploaded a .htaccess file, but you are not able to see it if you connect via FTP, then your FTP client is probably hiding files where ' . ' is the first character in the filename. Please consult your FTP clients manual to see if this functionality can be altered.
The file manager in the control panel at http://www.example.com/admin (replace example.com with your domain name) can be used to view and edit files where ' . ' is the first character in the filename.
