Can I host with you a domain that I have registered elsewhere?
Yes. You can ask your current domain name provider to change the nameservers (sometimes referred to as DNS) listed for your domain to the following (the IP addresses in brackets are often not required):
ns1.plugsocket.com (83.223.103.20)
ns2.plugsocket.com (83.142.30.35)
If the domain is a .uk domain, you may also request that the IPSTAG be released to the tag PLUGSOCKET (all capital letters) as well as asking for the nameservers listed on the registration to be changed as above. This will effectively transfer the domain to us and all future domain renewal fees would then be payable to us.
Ordering HostingYou can order the hosting before or shortly after the updates mentioned above. You will need to order the hosting plan of your choice and enter your domain in the 'Use My Existing Domain' box.
Once ordered, you will be sent instructions on how to upload your site. Advanced users may like to upload the site before the domain has resolved to the new account. This can be done using the details contained within the preview section of the email (this is not possible if FrontPage server extensions are being used).
