Why can't I access my web site?
There could be several reasons why you can't access your website.
1. Firstly, if your site appears to be down, can you get other sites which are not hosted by PlugSocket? If not, then it sounds as though there is a problem with your Internet connection. You would need to contact your Internet Service Provider.
2. Please check that you have entered your domain name correctly in the browser without any spelling mistakes.
3. Please check our status section, to make sure that there is no planned maintenance or issues.
4. Maybe your domain name registration has expired and you have not renewed it? You can check the expiry date of your domain name from the Whois (enter your domain name in the Search box on the domains page and click on 'Search', then click on 'Show' under 'Whois'). If this is the case, then you would need to contact the company who you registered the domain name through.
5. Maybe the hosting of your site has expired and you have not renewed it? If this is the case, then you would need to contact us to renew it.
6. If you are not able to receive your mail or FTP to your site either, then it is possible that our intrusion detection systems may have blocked you (not your site's visitors) from accessing the account. Please write to us with your IP address (what is my IP address?), so that we may check this.
7. There may be a problem en route between your Internet Service Provider and the server your site is on. Try connecting via a different ISP if possible. Alternatively, please send us the results of a traceroute, so that we can investigate further. To do a traceroute using Windows, connect to the Internet, click on 'Start', then click 'Run', then type 'cmd' in the 'Open' field and click 'ok'. Type tracert www.example.com (replace example with the domain name for your site) and then press enter and wait for it to complete. When complete, right click with the mouse, click on 'select all' and then press Ctrl and C together on the keyboard. Then paste the output onto an email, by pressing Ctrl and V together on the keyboard and send the email to us.
8. If you still cannot find out what the problem is, please contact us.
