How do I add a user (mailbox) to my account?

To add a user to your account, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Login to your control panel at http://www.example.com/admin/ (replace example.com with your domain name)
  2. Click on 'Users', then 'Add User'.
  3. Enter the username which you wish to create a mailbox for in the 'username' field e.g. john.
  4. Then enter the user's first and last names in the 'Full name' field
  5. Enter a secure password for the user and then retype it in the 'confirm password' field
  6. A user's disk space can be limited by setting a quota. If you enter '0' in the field, they will be able to use the total free space available on your account.
  7. If you tick the FTP box, the user will have their own FTP space. The user's files would be accessible at http://www.example.com/users/username (where example.com is your domain name and username is the name you entered in the username box at step 3). The username should be entered in an FTP client in the format 'username@example.com'. If in doubt, leave the FTP box unticked - it can always be enabled later.
  8. You also have the option to allow CGI scripts to be run in the user's own cgi-bin. This is only applicable if you have enabled FTP access. If in doubt, leave this option unticked. It can always be enabled later.
  9. If the user has FTP access and you tick the 'Create a subdomain' box, then the user's files will be located at http://username.example.com (where example.com is your domain name and username is the name you entered in the username box at step 3). Subdomains can take up to 24 hours to resolve and become accessible. If in doubt, leave this option unticked. It can always be enabled later.
  10. Click 'Add' to complete the process.
The user you created will have an email address in the format username@example.com. This is also the username format that needs to be entered into your email client or webmail.

If you want your user to receive emails to more than one email address, then you will need to add an alias for the user.
