How do I get my site in the search engines?
When your website is complete and uploaded to your account, you can manually "submit" your site to the engines yourself (most search engines have a submission page) or you could use our search engine submission service to submit your site to 100 or 400 search engines for you every month (from £19.95 per year).
Submitting your website lets the search engines know that you are there and invites them to come and index your page. Indexing, evaluating and ranking your page may take place in a matter of days or months.
Search engines can also find your site, from links on other sites, so you need to try to get other websites to display a link to your site on their site. The more pages that display your link, the better your chance of being found by the engines.
You could also subscribe to a 'pay per click' (PPC) network. A good explanation of how PPC advertising works can be found at http://www.mirago.com/advertisers/whatispayperclick.htm. PlugSocket customers are entitled to £25 worth of free Mirago pay per click advertising (Mirago offer details).
