How can I reject mail completely from a certain sender?

First of all you will need to log in at http://www.example.com/admin (replace example.com with your domain name), then click on 'Email', then 'Reject List'. Next click on 'Add Sendmail Reject List' and enter an email address, a domain name or an IP address which you do not wish any of your users to receive mail from and click on 'Add'. Please note that all users on your account will be affected by the reject list and none of them will receive mail from the rejected sources.

If you simply wish to mark the emails from these people as 'SPAM' rather than completely rejecting them, then this can be done on a per user basis through the user control panel at http://www.example.com/user where example.com is your domain name. Each user would need to set this up through the 'Blocked Senders' list in their control panel.

The Sendmail Reject List is a list of email sources that you identify as sources of unsolicited email. It disallows delivery of email messages from the sources identified in the list to any site user. For example, if you include the IP address 1.2.3.4 in the Reject List, all email messages that originate from the address will be blocked from being relayed to all users of the site.

The address source can be any of the following:

  • An email address - The email address is blocked.

  • A site - All email messages that originate from the site are blocked.

  • An IP address - All email messages that originate from the specified IP address are blocked.

If you enter a partial IP address, all email messages that originate from any IP address in the subnet are blocked. For example, specifying 1.2.3 will block all IP addresses in the subnet, 1.2.3.0 through 1.2.3.255.
